Claiming you don't need others is a form of arrogance. Nobody is entirely self-made; we are all the product of someone's influence or the coordination of multiple influences. Even God isn't a lone ranger; Jesus himself needed others.

Luke 2:52 says, "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." 

Jesus needed his 12 disciples while on Earth and John the Baptist to announce him as the Son of God.
