THE POWER OF THE TONGUE

The tongue, a small yet vital muscle, serves functions crucial for taste, chewing, swallowing, and speech, with the capacity to shape and inspire one's destiny.

As Proverbs 18:21 states, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit," emphasizing the profound impact of words on one's life.

Though boneless, the tongue possesses the power to wound hearts, revealing the essence of a person as noted in Proverbs 21:23.

POSITIVITY AND NEGATIVITY IN SPEECH

Negative Use:

1) Deceitful Speech: Proverbs 10:18 warns against concealing hatred with lies and spreading slander.

2) Seeds of Discord: This includes backbiting, talebearing, nagging, and anger (Proverbs 15:18).

3) Excessive Talking: Lack of mouth control leads to idle chatter and gossip.

Positive Use:

1) Words of Blessing: Encouraging, loving, and affirming words can shape destinies and provide direction (Proverbs 16:24, Colossians 4:6).

2) Praising God: Psalms 148, 149, and 150 extol the virtue of praising the divine.

3) Confession of Positivity: Speaking faith and aligning words with God's promises can unlock blessings and opportunities.

In conclusion, the tongue wields immense power; thus, it's essential to exercise self-control, ensuring that words spoken align with kindness and truth.

Silence is not always a sign of weakness rather is also a sign of self control.

Control and tame your tongue, watch what you say, you may not be able to take it back .

Be sure to taste your words before you spit them out.
