Your capacity to exercise dominion is tied to your self image ( confidence).
You are not likely to attempt anything beyond the capacity of the person you see on the inside.
Self confidence is understanding that you trust your own judgment and abilities and that you value yourself and feel worthy regardless of any imperfections or of what others may believe about you.
Not everyone is born with an inbuilt sense of self-confidence. Sometimes, it can be hard to develop confidence, either because personal experience have caused you to loose confidence or because you suffer from low self esteem or worth.
A confident person(s)
- Does what they believe is right even if others mock or criticize them for it.
- Is willing to take risks and to go the extra mile to achieve better things. (Low-Self confidence stays in her comfort zone, fearing failure and avoiding risk.)
- They admit their mistakes and learn from it. ( low-self confidence works hard to cover up mistakes, hoping to fix the problem before anyone notices).
- Is optimistic
- Is able to accept compliment
Have a positive image about yourself regardless of the situation or circumstances around you.
Satan uses circumstances and situation around you to reveal a bad image about you! Don't let Satan reveal who he thinks you are to you.
Psalms 139 : 13 -14 (for you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb).
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
You weren't a mistake ( enough reason to walk with your head held high).
TIPS FOR BUILDING SELF CONFIDENCE
There are number of things you can do to build your confidence.
1. The word of God : The word of God is our mirror.
If the mirror is cracked, the image produced will be broken. Be careful where you derive yourself image from as it affects your self image.
2. Think of things you are good at : Everyone has strength and talent. What is yours? Recognizing what you are good at and trying to build on those things will help you to build confidence in your own abilities.
3. Talk yourself up : You are never going to feel confident if you have negative thought running through your mind and telling you that you are not good.
Talk and cheer yourself up.
4. Look at what you have already achieved : It is easy to loose confidence. If you believe you haven't achieved anything, make a list of all the things you are proud of in your life, use it to remind yourself of the awesome things you have achieved.
5. Set some goals : Set some goals and set out steps you need to take to achieve them.just aim for some achievement that can help you gain confidence in your ability to get some things done.
6. Follow your person : Try to find out something you are passionate about and commit yourself to it. Chances are that if you are passionate about something, you are more likely to be motivated and you will build skills more quickly.
If you are not feeling any better, you can talk to someone who knows how to help, (coinsellors), they can help you develop strategies to build your confidence.
